We all have our own unique look upon the world and photography is just one way to articulate how we each see things.
I’ve always taken photos, always thought it important to capture moments, but I never thought of myself as a "photographer" or indeed that my images were any better or worse than anyone else. People would compliment me, but I just thought they were being nice.
When I eventually had some spare time , I went on a photography course and well, one thing lead to another.
Now I rarely go out without a camera, I seem to be able to do things and go places that I wouldn't normally venture. I love learning new techniques, trying new settings and just being camera active.
My successes include :
2016 - I improved my position to 7th overall in my camera club - unfortunately I spent 50% of the year recuperating from major surgery. I am getting back to full strength now and hope to catch up on lost camera time in 2017.
2015 - Most Improved Photographer of the Year (Northern Exposure Photography Group)
Perth edition of Monopoly – four photos printed on the box/board
Leederville Camera House - winner
Exhibitor at the Perth Royal Show in 2013 and 2015
2014 Garuda Airlines printed one of my photos in their Inflight magazine "Colours"2013 International Loupe Awards – I made it into the top 50 photos in the Sports category
